AI Rap Video Generator: Make a Photo Rap Your Own Lyrics
The short version: Open a project on FunGen and describe the rapper and what the rap is about. The agent writes original lyrics, turns them into a rap song with vocals, and offers a lip-sync render of your photo. The photo and the song are charged as they’re made (7 credits in our run). Before the lip sync, which is the expensive part, you get a price card to confirm. Our 30-second example below used 333 credits in total. About 10 minutes passed between confirming the price card and getting the video.
Turn the sound on. The rapper is AI-generated, not a real person. The lyrics and the song were generated fresh for this video.
What we asked for
One message in a new project:
Make an AI rap video. Create a photo of a confident young man in a black hoodie and gold chain, waist-up, facing the camera, city night background. Then have him rap an original 30-second rap about launching his first app. Male voice.
That’s all the input it took. If you already have a photo, attach it instead of describing one. If you have your own lyrics or your own recorded rap, paste or attach those and the agent uses them as they are.
Step 1: The photo
The agent generated a waist-up portrait with GPT Image 2 at 2K (3 credits). The lip-sync step works best with a photo like this: one person, facing the camera, face clearly visible, even light.
Step 2: The lyrics and the song
The agent wrote eight lines of original lyrics:
First app on the map, yeah I built that flame Late nights, no sleep, now they know my name Code in the dark, turned a spark to a launch One tap, whole team watching numbers go strong From a sketch in my notes to a live download Had doubt in the room but I stayed ten toes Now the screen lights up when the users all tap First app going up, put the city on the map
It then generated the song from those exact lyrics with a male rap vocal. The style tags were hip hop, rap, punchy drums, modern trap bounce, confident, urban, and the target length was 30 seconds. The track came back at 29.6 seconds and cost 4 credits. Here it is on its own:
The song length is a target, not a promise; the actual length can come out a little different. One lip-sync clip can be up to 60 seconds. If a song comes out longer, the agent cuts out a section of it (free) and tells you which part it used.
Step 3: Confirm the price, then render
Before the expensive step, the agent shows a card with the estimated cost. For our 29.6-second track at 720p it was about 326 credits (11 credits per second). The render only starts after you confirm, and if no valid video is delivered, that render isn’t charged.

The finished video is 816×1104 at 30 fps. The model also added head movement and hand gestures without being asked:

What it cost
| Step | Credits |
|---|---|
| Portrait (GPT Image 2, 2K) | 3 |
| Rap song with vocals, 29.6 s | 4 |
| Lip-sync video, 720p, 29.6 s | 326 |
| Total | 333 |
Almost all of the cost is the lip sync, which is charged per second. Shorter raps are cheaper: a 10-second verse is about 110 credits at 720p. Eligible new accounts get 100 free credits. Going by this example’s costs (3 for the photo, 4 for the song), that leaves enough for roughly 8 seconds of lip sync. The song itself will be longer, so ask the agent to cut an 8-second hook from it (cutting is free) before the lip sync.
Tips
- Say who’s rapping and what it’s about. Topic plus one detail is enough: a birthday rap for a friend, a rap about your coffee shop, a rap about finishing your thesis.
- Ask for “original” lyrics. The agent is set up to write new lyrics, not a real artist’s, and not to imitate a real rapper’s voice. Bring your own lyrics only if they’re yours to use.
- Keep it to one person. This makes one rapper per clip. Duo raps, full-length songs and multi-shot music videos aren’t part of this flow.
- Slower, clearer flows sync best. Very fast rapping can look less precise. If a clip looks off, ask for a slower beat or fewer words per line.
- Use your own photo only if you have permission. Use photos of adults; photos where the person may be a minor can be turned away at upload.
FAQ
Is there a free AI rap video generator? You can try it on the free plan. Eligible new accounts get 100 credits. Based on this example’s costs, that covers a photo, a song and about 8 seconds of lip sync, cut from the song. A full 30-second video like ours costs about 333 credits.
Can I use my own song or my own voice? Yes. Attach your audio in the project and the agent will lip-sync the photo to it. Clips up to 60 seconds work, and longer audio gets cut to a section first.
How long does it take? In our run, writing the lyrics and generating the photo and the song took under two minutes. The 30-second lip-sync render took about 10 minutes after we confirmed the price.
Can two people rap together? Not in this flow. Each clip is one person. For a duo you’d need two separate clips edited together.
Try it
Start a project, describe your rapper and the topic. On free credits, ask for an 8-second hook from the song for a first test. If you just want a photo to say a line instead of rapping, see how to make a photo talk with AI.
